• An important architectural monument from Brasov City that was a guard tower at the beginning, placed on the same spot where the current tower is.
  In 23 December, 1420 an agreement is done between the Barsei Country Council and the furrier guild, regarding the construction of the Casa Sfatului. In this document is mentioned that the leaders of the Brasov furriers allowed the 9ht counties of the “Barsei Country” to build a room for the justice and for the magistrate president on top of the guild selling arch. Because of the Turkish invasion from 1421, of the city partial destruction and because of the magistrate arrest the construction was postponed.
  The building became a City Council once the city evolved. This way, the next mention about the Casa Sfatului appears in 1503 as “Praetorium”. The City Administration moves from this building in 1876, in a new building from the Republicii and Mihail Sadoveanu streets intersection.
