Ion Creanga's "Bojdeuca"

Ion Creanga's "Bojdeuca" it’s a house from the Ticau district of Iasi city where the great writer, Ion Creanga lived between 1872 and 1889. In this house, also entered Mihai Eminescu, being a closed friend of Creanga. The house, having two rooms placed on both sides of an athenaeum, became memorial museum in 15 April 1918, being renovated between 1942 and 1985.

Ion Creanga’s “Bojdeuca” is the first memorial house from Romania. The first historical that presented the Bojdeuca to the guests, was allowed to live in the small kitchen from the left side of the entrance, with his wife, grandmother and three childrens.

It was known that Ion Creanga, in his house from Ticau had a big group of cats (around 30) and each one had a name of a real person from his life. For example, he always had a cat called Marioara like his gristle aunt from the native village, Humulesti.
