Ipotesti - The Mihai Eminescu memorial house

In 1850, the George Eminovici family broth a estate in the Ipotest village, where it will construct a house with all the needed items of a rich house. The house had three rooms: the family saloon, Eminescu’s father office and the bedroom of Eminescu’s mother and sisters. In this house Eminovici family lived until 1878.

In 1924, the house where Mihai Eminescu lived remained unused for ears and became a ruin. In 1934 the house was rebuilt on the same spot, and it was transformed in the first memorial house of this great poet. This house didn’t respected the original structure and was demolished and rebuilt in 1979 after the original documents, on the old Emilovici house foundation. The furniture is part original, part from the middle of the XIX century.
