The Church from One Stone

The Church from One Stone (GPS: 45.111678, 26.50243) was raised after the Revolution, on the Colarea from Naeni, near Thracian necropolis at an altitude of 600 m. It’s built entirely of Naeni white limestone of rocks at less than 100 meters away. It is surrounded by stone walls, ancient fortresses like and is also very beautiful. It is located one kilometer away from the camp of sculpture, 800 m from prehistoric caves and only a few kilometers from the famous hermitage cave of Ambrosie.

Falcon stone house cave hollowed in the Dealu Mare, today a beautiful monument, was the place chosen by Ambrosie Monk at Monastery Ciolanu to live in hermitage after his return from Mount Athos. Hermit lived here about 50 years, until the '70s. Nearby villagers past the age of 50 years and I still remember Ambrosie and talk about it.
