Prehistoric caves

Prehistoric caves (GPS: 45.1138, 26.49526) of Naeni, quite numerous and various, are strategically located on the top edge of the hills. They were carved in stone 4000-7000 years ago in places difficult to reach by enemies and beasts and were used primarily as a shelter. In the Naeni caves were discovered an altar, inscriptions, and bones, weapons and prehistoric tools. Some caves can be seen under the Colarea hill top, a few hundred meters from the Stone Church, the sculpture camp or Thracian necropolis and only two kilometers from Ambrosie's cell.
