Haus Der Music, 4th floor - Brain Opera

  • Come and play a selection of hyper instruments (computer-controlled instruments which anyone can play), and make your music a part of the Brain Opera

Haus Der Music, 4th floor - Future Music Blender

  • Mix your own music. Add additional colour sound tags to the Blender and have a seat on the Sensor Chair.

Haus Der Music, 4th floor - Futuresphere

  • Music between present and vision - The Brain Opera

What could the future of music and music-making possibly be? The Brain Opera presents the latest developments by MIT - the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - exclusive to HAUS DER MUSIK! The Brain Opera was invented and composed by Tod Machover, Professor of Composition at the MIT Media Lab, Boston, USA.

Visitors can create music themselves and become co-shaper of the future. The tones and moods that they create by interactively playing the amazing hyper-instruments of the Mind Forest through their movement, their touch and their voice, are stored and blend with other visitors' ideas into worlds of sound. Composing and making music is possible even without previous knowledge of music.

Musical souvenirs, amusing, interesting and practical items are offered in the HAUS DER MUSIK Shop as a souvenir following the visit and completion of the 4th floor.

Haus Der Music, Inner Courtyard

  • The centre of the building is the roofed, air-conditioned inner courtyard with a small room in which special exhibitions are shown free of charge.
The inner courtyard is surrounded by a number of businesses dedicated to music: The violin maker Anna Hohenegger has her workshop here, instruments, high-value HiFi institutions and the café-bar Cantino invite you to linger and relax.
