Ratesti Monastery

Founded by Dragomir gentleman, the monastic settlement from Ratesti was at the end of the sixteenth century a monks monastery. Left abandoned by 1752, the holy place is reopened after 1760, as convent. In 1861 they founded the school for convent and poor girls, and in 1912, the adult school. At Ratesti monastery you can find Tattarescu’s paintings and a collection of old religious art.
